Ellie spent much of her earlier life on the big island of Hawaii. After her Mom Joy bought the piece of land 1991, Hawaii has played an enormous role in a sense of belonging and connection for Ellie to her mom, particularly when Joy sadly passed away in May 2022. This was the first time Ellie and I went together, spending our time with her Dad and exploring what Pele had created.
